Regarding the April 13 front-page article “U.S. assessment: No negotiations to end Ukraine war expected this year”:

Ukraine and Russia might not be interested in negotiating, but what if NATO took the initiative? What if NATO addressed a major Russian grievance and offered to remove its missiles from Romania and Poland, which Russia sees as an unsettling harbinger of NATO missiles in Ukraine? What if NATO offered to adapt its charter to ban missiles not just in Ukraine but also in all former Eastern Bloc countries, contingent on Russia removing its missiles from Kaliningrad?
