Five people hurt in school bus crash in Silver Spring area, police say

All injuries were said to be non-life-threatening.

A school bus crashed into a tree in Montgomery County on Monday morning, injuring four , the county police said. All injuries were described by the police as non-life-threatening.

One adult also was injured in what police described as a one-vehicle collision. The bus was heading to Fairland Elementary School in Silver Spring.

It was not immediately clear how it occurred. Those injured were all taken to hospitals, according to the police. Authorities said the 13000 block of Old Columbia Pike near Musgrove Road was shut down.

Photographs showed a large yellow school bus, with damage to the front.
