When the NBA’s 2022-23 regular season opened in October, crises involving Phoenix Suns owner Robert Sarver, Boston Celtics Coach Ime Udoka and Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green dominated headlines and shaped title forecasts.

Much had changed by the time the 82-game slate concluded: The Suns had a new owner (Mat Ishbia) and a new superstar forward (Kevin Durant); the Celtics had a new coach (Joe Mazzulla) and the league’s best point differential; and the defending champion Warriors had moved past Green’s preseason punch of teammate Jordan Poole and survived multiple Stephen Curry injuries to remain in the hunt.
